Where will the session take place?

Sessions take place at our cozy home studio in Pickering, just off of the 401 at Whites Rd.

During the warmer months a limited number of sessions are available outdoors at parks and trails around the GTA and Durham Region.
What type of clothing do you suggest?

Whatever style of clothing you chose, I recommend keeping it simple so that the focus can remain on your child's face and expressions. Logos, loud prints, clothing with images or characters, etc., should all be avoided as they draw attention away from the child’s face. That doesn't mean to avoid fun clothing and colours though! Colour and children go hand in hand so I recommend bring at least one "fun" outfit that is bold and brightly coloured! For newborns and small babies naked skin is best and bare feet are always best for any age.

If there will be more than one person being photographed please try to stick to the same tones and colour palette. You are welcome to bring a few different outfits, as well as any stuffed animals, blankets or toys that are significant to your child.

For newborn sessions a black, long sleeved shirt is recommended. Parents hands are also featured alongside their baby in many of the newborn images which means that your photo session is a great excuse to go get a manicure! Also, as much of the newborn session is likely to be diaper free, I recommend to parents to bring a comfortable change of clothing just in case!

How far in advance should I book my session?

As soon as you have decided that I am the right photographer for you and your child, please contact me to set up the session. The more advance notice I am given, the better chance that I will be able to reserve you preferred date. Generally we book 4-6 weeks in advance, but I try to accommodate last minute requests as best as I can.
(Special exceptions may be made for newborn sessions as they are so time sensitive - and so much fun!)

I am expecting and would like to book a maternity session, when should I call?

The best time to for a maternity session is between 32-36 weeks. At this time your belly will be lovely and full, but you will be more comfortable to pose than if we waited until the very end of your pregnancy. (Also less likely to miss your maternity session due to an unexpectedly early arrival!) Please call to book well in advance to ensure you are able to get an appointment as this is a time sensitive session.

I would like to book a newborn session, when should I call?

Newborn sessions work best within the first 2 weeks of life. During this time babies have a priceless and fleeting curled, sleepy, sweet appearance that will be gone before you know it. Please call toward the end of your pregnancy with your due date, and we can book your session for about 2 weeks after your due date. I LOVE doing newborn sessions so if you have just had your baby and didn’t have a chance to call, please call anyway and I will do my very best to make space in my schedule for you.
